At Mental Health Counselling Geelong, we take pride in delivering high-quality, professional clinical supervision for social workers, psychologists, counsellors, allied health practitioners, and all professionals working in health and human services.

Our team comprises clinicians with a minimum of 20 years’ experience in clinical mental health, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to best practice. We specialise in complex presentations including trauma (PTSD), eating disorders, anxiety, depression, substance use, gender dysphoria, and LGBTQIA+ support. Our supervisors are experienced in EMDR therapy and have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups.

Clinical supervision is widely recognised as a cornerstone of best practice across the helping professions. It offers a structured, confidential space for reflection, learning, and professional growth—supporting practitioners to maintain high standards of care, enhance their skills, and navigate the complexities of client work. While supervision has its roots in social work, its value is now well established across psychology, counselling, and allied health, and is considered essential for ongoing professional development and wellbeing.

Professional supervision is described as:

“…a forum for reflection and learning… an interactive dialogue between at least two people, one of whom is a supervisor. This dialogue shapes a process of review, reflection, critique, and replenishment for professional practitioners. Supervision is a professional activity in which practitioners are engaged throughout the duration of their careers, regardless of experience or qualification. The participants are accountable to professional standards and defined competencies and to organisational policy and procedures” (Davys & Beddoe, 2010: 21).

At Mental Health Counselling Geelong, we are dedicated to upholding the values and standards outlined in the AASW Supervision Standards, including:

  • Respect for Persons

  • Social Justice

  • Professional Integrity

  • Accountability

Our supervisors create a supportive, collaborative, and confidential environment, tailored to your professional needs and goals.

Whether you are seeking to develop your clinical skills, reflect on complex cases, or ensure ethical and effective practice, we are here to support your ongoing growth and wellbeing.
