Fees and Rebates

CONSULTATION FEES

Consultations with Mental Health Counselling Geelong are available Australia-wide via telehealth, in-person at our Geelong practice.

​

The Australian Association of Social Workers’ (AASW) recommended fee for a 50-minute consultation is $289. At Mental Health Counselling Geelong, we are committed to providing accessible, high-quality care. As of 1 July 2025, our consultation fees are:

​

• Individual session with Dayna Taberner: $240 per 50-minute session

• Individual session with Natalie Smith: $220 per 50-minute session

• Couples session with Dayna Taberner: $260 per 50-minute session

• Couples session with Natalie Smith: $240 per 50-minute session

• Family session with Dayna Taberner: $280 per 50 minute session (longer can be discussed when required)

• Family session with Natalie Smith: $260 per 50 minute session (longer can be discussed when required)

We also see NDIS participants as per NDIS price guide.

If you are attending with a Mental Health Care Plan, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $87.45 per session (for Accredited Mental Health Social Workers), up to the annual limit of 10 sessions (as at 1 July 2025). Please note: Couples Counselling is excluded.

 

Full payment is required two business days before your consultation. Bulk billing is not available. Consultation fees are reviewed annually on 1 July.

Please note: Our focus is on providing assessment and treatment. Reports or letters for legal, insurance, or Centrelink purposes are not provided.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Kindly provide at least 48 hours’ notice (before your credit card has been charged) if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You may cancel via telephone, text message, email, or by using the link provided in your appointment reminder. This allows us to offer the appointment time to another client in need of support.

Late Cancellation Fees:
A late cancellation fee will be applicable for cancellations made within 48 business hours of the scheduled appointment. The late cancellation fee is the amount of your scheduled session.

Non-Attendance:
If you do not attend your appointment, the full session fee will apply, and you are not able to receive the Medicare rebate for that session.
